Carlos Martinez qualifies with Costa Rica for World Cup in Qatar

Former KAS Eupen player and Aspire Academy graduate Carlos Martinez has qualified for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar with the Costa Rica national team.

With a 1-0 victory over New Zealand, Costa Rica assured the last ticket for the World Cup tournament. Carlos Martinez (22 years) was introduced in the 46th minute and played the entire 2nd half.

After his formation at Aspire Academy Senegal, Carlos Martinez joined KAS Eupen in the summer of 2017 and was loaned to Spanish club Real Murcia in 2018 and Costa Rican national champions Heridiano in 2019. Carlos Martinez is currently under contract with first division club AD San Carlos.
