Following a superb move down the left flank, Eupen took the lead 1–0 in the 23rd minute. Twenty-year-old Raphaël Matteo fired the ball into the net, scoring his first goal for the Pandas’ first team. In the 36th minute, Isaac Nuhu made it 2–0 with a powerful shot. Kikas scored the Pandas’ third goal in the 70th minute, shortly after coming on as a substitute. RFC Liège pulled one back through Pierre-Yves Ngawa in the 82nd minute.

Next weekend, KAS Eupen will play their first cup match of the season. On Sunday 27 September, the Pandas will travel to face KFC Merelbeke (1st Flemish Amateur League) in the round of 32 of the Croky Cup at 4.00 pm.
