KAS Eupen sign Kevin Möhwald from Union Berlin

KAS Eupen has signed Kevin Möhwald from Bundesliga club Union Berlin. The polyvalent midfielder has signed a three-year contract in Eupen until 30 June 2026. He has played a total of 258 professional games for Rot-Weiß Erfurt, 1. FC Nürnberg, SV Werder Bremen and Union Berlin.

Kevin Möhwald was born in Erfurt on 3 July 1993 and was formed in the youth department of FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt. Here he made the step up to the professional squad in 2011 and became a regular in the 3rd Bundesliga team.

In 2015, he moved to the second-division club 1. FC Nürnberg. He was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga with the club at the end of the 2017/2018 season. From 2018 to 2021, the newcomer from KAS Eupen played 52 Bundesliga matches for SV Werder Bremen under Florian Kohfeldt. In 2021, he moved to 1. FC Union Berlin, for whom he played 21 games.

Christoph Henkel, general director of KAS Eupen: “We are very pleased to welcome a proven Bundesliga player as our first new arrival. Kevin Möhwald brings with him the experience of 155 matches in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga. These are the best conditions to support our young players from his position in central midfield and to promote their further development. We are hoping for important impulses from Kevin Möhwald to improve the quality of our game and lead us to our season goal of play-off 2.”

KAS Eupen welcomes Kevin Möhwald and looks forward to working with him.
