As host of the 2022 FIFA World Cup™, Qatar launched the Generation Amazing initiative in 2010. The aim of the project is to use the appeal of soccer in Asia, Africa, South America, and Europe to integrate disadvantaged young people into society and offer them prospects for the future.
KAS Eupen has been an official partner of Generation Amazing since 2019. As part of this partnership, young people from the ZFP Eupen Educational Center were able to take part in Generation Amazing’s first youth festival in Doha in December 2019 and gain unforgettable experiences.
The founding of the Integration soccer team in September 2019 was also a collaboration between KAS Eupen and Generation Amazing. This initiative, which is also supported by the city of Eupen and the Belle Vue Institute, has proven to be a complete success. Under the leadership of Johannes Queck, refugees who have settled in Eupen meet once a week for joint training sessions. Everyone is very enthusiastic and has successfully played their first friendly matches against amateur teams from Eupen and integration teams from other Belgian cities.
