KAS Eupen signs Portuguese striker João Diogo Alves Rodrigues

Centre forward João Diogo Alves Rodrigues is transferring from Portuguese first division club CF Estrela Amadora to KAS Eupen. He is known in the football world by his nickname ‘Kikas’. He has signed a contract with the Pandas until 30 June 2028.

He has played for CF Estrela Amadora since 2023, where he was one of the top performers as the team’s top scorer. He has scored six goals and provided one assist this season.

João Diogo Alves Rodrigues was born on 17 September 1998 in Castelo Branco. He was trained at Benfica Castelo Branco, Sporting CP, Desportivo Castelo Branco and Vitória Guimarães.

He made his professional debut in 2017 with his home club, third-division team Benfica Castelo Branco, where he scored 17 goals right away. In 2018, he made his debut in the top division with B-SAD.

He has played for CF Estrela Amadora since 2023. As a striker, he scored important goals for the club both in their promotion to the first division and in their fight to stay in the Primeira Liga.

So far in his career, Kikas has played 107 first division matches in Portugal, 48 matches in the second division and 30 matches in the top division in Cyprus. In Portugal’s first division alone, he has scored 26 goals.
