KAS Eupen hires Olivier Materne as coordinator of its physiotherapists
KAS Eupen is expanding its team of physiotherapists with the internationally experienced physiotherapist Dr Olivier Materne, who was most recently Head of Physiotherapy for Standard de Liège’s first team.
Dr Materne began his career working for various Belgian football clubs, before taking on key physiotherapy roles in Qatar ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, working as Head Football Physiotherapist at Aspire Academy, Sport Physiotherapist of National Youth Teams at Qatar Football Association, and Senior Youth Football Physiotherapist at Aspetar amongst other roles. He later spent three years as Medical Services Manager at Glasgow Rangers FC. The 54-year-old comes from Hannut and holds a PhD in paediatric sports medicine.
At KAS Eupen, Dr Materne will work as an additional physiotherapist and will plan and coordinate the activities of the physiotherapists for the first team, the PandaYoungsters23 and the Panda Youngsters youth teams.
He will take up his position at KAS Eupen on 2 January 2026 and will accompany the first team to their training camp at Paris Saint-Germain’s performance centre in Poissy.
KAS Eupen is looking forward to working with Dr Materne and welcomes him to the team.
