Six KAS Eupen players appointed to national teams

Six KAS Eupen players are about to compete in international matches. Four KAS professionals have been appointed to the senior national teams of Iran, Republic of Congo, Gambia and Benin by their national coaches. Two young KAS players belong to the Ivory Coast U23 squad.

Omid Ebrahimi is part of Iran coach Marc Wilmots’ squad for Thursday’s World Cup qualifier against Iraq. Central striker Jonathan Bolingi will be playing with the Republic of Congo national team in the African Championship qualifiers against Gabon (14.11.) and Gambia (18.11.). This may lead to a direct comparison with his KAS counterpart Sulayman Marreh, who is in the Gambian selection for the African Cup qualifiers in Angola and against Republic of Congo. Central defender Olivier Verdon was nominated by Benin’s national coach for the two African Cup qualifiers against Nigeria and Sierra Leone.

The two Ivorians Lazare Amani and Silas Gnaka are preparing for the U23 African Cup and the Olympic qualification with their home country’s U23 national team.
