KAS Eupen’s U21 team have started the group stage of the Cup competition with a 1-2 defeat to OH Leuven. Host KAS Eupen had a scoring chance after just 5 minutes after a move combining Martinez, Musset and Djongambo. Leuven responded promptly and took a 1-0 lead in the 7th minute thanks to a free kick. The game remained fast and Bourard only just missed the equaliser in the 18th minute. It materialised three minutes later: Bourard passed to El Harrak, who scored to make it 1-1. Shortly before the break, the guests scored their second goal with a deflected shot to make it 2-1.
In the 2nd half, Djongambo had a chance to make it 2-2 but he failed to beat OHL’s goalkeeper. The final minutes of the match became increasingly frantic and the referee whipped out his yellow card 7 times. Djongambo was sent off in the 87th minute. OHL focused on preserving its lead and KAS Eupen suffered a narrow 1-2 loss.
