KAS Eupen has signed an extremely famous player from the Jupiler Pro League. The 34-year-old forward Mbaye Leye is making the transfer to KAS Eupen from reigning cup champion Zulte Waregem. The player from Senegal has signed a contract with KAS Eupen until 30 June 2020.
Mbaye Leye has plied his trade in Belgium’s top league for exactly ten years and has scored 106 goals for KAA Gent, Standard Liège, KSC Lokeren and Zulte Waregem in over 300 championship matches in the Pro League. His scoring record also includes 11 more goals in the Cup as well as 42 assists. He has worn the jersey of Senegal’s national A team on five occasions.
It is not only down to his strong performances on the pitch that Mbaye Leye is very popular on the Belgian football scene. He is also extremely popular with viewers as a TV expert with RTL.
