KAS Eupen has transferred yet another striker by lending 24-year-old Spaniard Jon Bautista from Spanish first division team Real Sociedad San Sebastian for the coming season.
Jon Bautista also played in the youth section of his club Real Sociedad under new KAS Eupen coach Beñat San José. In his first three professional years in the Real Sociedad B team (2e B), the centre forward scored 29 goals in 72 games. In the summer of 2017, Jon Bautista moved to his club’s A squad and thus to La Liga. The new KAS Eupen striker has 56 appearances in La Liga, Europa League and Copa del Rey and scored 7 goals.
KAS Director General Christoph Henkel is pleased with the transfer of another striker: “Last season showed us that there was a need for action when it came to filling the attacking positions. I am all the more pleased that Jon Bautista has decided to spend a year with KAS Eupen. He brings the experience from La Liga and the Europa League and is a reinforcement for our team. Together with the other offensive players from our squad, the two newcomers Jon Bautista and Flavio Ciampichetti will certainly increase KAS Eupen’s chances of scoring goals in the coming season. We are looking forward to this and welcome Jon Bautista to our club.”
