The hoped-for surprise has failed to materialize. The KAS Eupen lost the Pro League derby against Standard Liège by 0:3. The team from Liège forced the decision in his favor early on: With goals from Kostas Lafis (6th minute) and Aleksandar Boljevic (27th minute) it was 2:0 for Standard after almost half an hour. In the 61st minute, Boljevic scored his second goal of the day to reach the 3-0 final score.
While Standard consolidated their leading position with this victory, KAS Eupen slipped to last place with Waasland Beveren and CS Bruges equal on points. After the cup match at Royal Cappellen FC on Wednesday, KAS Eupen will be visiting Cercle Bruges next Saturday at 8 pm.
