KAS Eupen leaving on Monday for training camp in Doha

On Monday, 7 January, KAS Eupen will be leaving for their training camp in Doha. On the premises of the Aspire Academy, head coach Claude Makelele’s team will prepare during one week for the second half of the season.

With the exception of Soulaymane Aw, Moussa Diallo and Carlos Martinez, who recently trained and played with the KAS Eupen U21 team, coach Claude Makelele has nominated the full squad of the first team for the training camp. Nonetheless, goalkeeper Babacar Niasse has to give up the trip: His passport was not extended in time and as a consequence he could not apply for a visa to enter Qatar. For Babacar Niasse, Logan Anciaux of the U18 team will be the third goalkeeper to complete the KAS Eupen team.

Furthermore, Iranian national player Morteza Pouraliganji will join his national team to play the Asian Championship in the United Arab Emirates in January and will therefore not participate in the training camp of KAS Eupen.

Players and coaching staff are expected back from their short break on Sunday. On Monday, the Eupen team bus leaves for the airport at 4:00 am. This time the KAS Eupen squad will travel from Frankfurt to Doha.

KAS Eupen will play a test game in Doha. Date and opponent are not fixed yet.
