39-year old Spaniard Beñat San José, confirmed new Head Coach of Belgian top flight football club KAS Eupen. Beñat San José started his coaching career in the youth ranks of his home town club Real Sociedad San Sebastián. From there he moved to the Middle East (Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates) and South America.
Beñat became the youngest Head Coach winning the Kings-Cup with a squad of mainly his former U21 players at Al-Ittihad FC. Beñat went on to winning the Bolivian League title with Club Bolivar two times, followed by the Chilean League title with Chilean football club CD Universidad Católica.
KAS Eupen Director Dr. Andreas Bleicher: “We are extremely happy that we succeeded to sign with Beñat a highly talented and sought after Head Coach and to have him and his Assistants with our club for the upcoming two seasons. Beñat has a proven track record in international football by adopting the philosophy of further developing the individual talent based on a strong team spirit. The KAS Eupen will present Beñat San José and his assistants officially at a press conference on Tuesday, 25 June at 13.45 hrs. The first public training with the new head coach will take place on Tuesday morning at 10.00 a.m.
