Alessio Castro-Montes leaves KAS Eupen to join KAA Gent. This is what Alessio Castro-Montes and the two clubs have agreed on. The contracting parties have agreed not to disclose the negotiated transfer amount. Alessio Castro-Montes had a contract with KAS Eupen valid until 30 June 2020.
The midfielder from Sint-Truiden came to KAS Eupen in the summer of 2017 as a 20-year-old junior player. In the 2018-2019 season, KAS coach Claude Makelele used the midfielder for the first time as a right defender. On his new position Alessio Castro-Montes conquered a regular place and attracted attention with his strong performances. With his move to KAA Gent, Alessio Castro-Montes has taken the next step in his career.
KAS Director General Christoph Henkel comments with mixed feelings on the departure of Alessio Castro-Montes: “It’s not easy for us to say goodbye to a likeable, ambitious and talented top performer as Alessio Castro-Montes. On the other hand, we are happy that he was able to develop into a player with us who will now continue his career at one of the top 5 clubs of the Pro League. We would like to thank Alessio for his commitment and wish him all the best and success for the rest of his career.”
